Whit is the District Conservationist for the USDA-Natural Resource Conservation Service. He’s been with the NRCS since 2005 and became fulltime in 2009. He’s worked in the Bakersfield, Oxnard and Escondido offices as a soil conservationist. He has a bachelor’s degree in Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is responsible for providing technical assistance, conservation planning and partnership collaboration. He brings experiences from 6 counties in 3 states along with being raised on a 5th generation taro farm in Hanalei, Kaua’i. Out of work, he enjoys surfing and going hiking with his wife Kimberly.
