Sacha Lozano leads the RCD’s work on agriculture and conservation, working with growers, landowners and private and public partners to advance sustainable management of water, nutrients and soil in the County’s farmlands. He is also involved in a regional effort to assess the economic value of ecosystem services and return on investment resulting from conservation and stewardship actions, made possible through RCDSCC’s partnerships. Prior to joining the RCD in 2012, Sacha worked for four years at NOAA’s Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary as a bilingual education program coordinator, developing and implementing watershed and ocean literacy programs for Spanish speaking communities in the Monterey Bay area. He has an academic background in marine ecology and natural systems for wastewater treatment. He likes being outdoors, playing and listening to music, and surfing waves.
