LandL Project Tour

Livestock and Land presents a FREE tour of local small acreage equine and livestock properties that have implemented Best Management Practices to better manage mud and manure. Projects were partially funded with a state grant managed by local Resource Conservation Districts and include a solar power aerated compost bin, a standard three bin composting system, a manure storage bunker, a 20,000-gallon rain water catchment system, road drainage, paddock management, and various options for hedgerow and tree plantings to reduce runoff.

Tour will meet in Gilroy at 8:45 AM and participants will be transported by bus to facilities in Hollister, Gilroy and San Martin. Tour begins promptly at 9:00 AM and the bus will return to the start location no later than 1:00 PM. Tour is rain or shine.

Light snacks and coffee will be served at the meeting location and on the bus.

Funding for this event is provided in part through an agreement with the State Water Board and the EPA.
