In accordance with guidance from the CDC and the County of Santa Cruz Health Services Agency, and in the spirit of doing our part to limit community spread of COVID-19, the RCD of Santa Cruz County is temporarily closing our physical office. This office closure will be in place until May 3rd, or until the County lifts the Shelter In Place Order. iSpy Science at Pinto Lake (Sat. 19 May, 2018 10:00 am - 1:00 pm)

Join the Resource Conservation District, City of Watsonville, Watsonville Wetlands Watch, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and Sea Otter Savvy on Saturday, May 19 from 10:00 to 1:00 for iSpy Science, a FREE family friendly hands‑on discovery activities at Pinto Lake City Park, 451 Green Valley Rd, Watsonville (meet at the docks).

  • Test your observation skills in the plant and animal ID and treasure hunt.
  • Conduct water and soil tests with tools you
  • make on site.
  • Get up close and personal with captive native salamanders, turtles, and other critters.
  • Learn fishing basics and try the casting contest.
  • Hear about a day in the life of a field scientist.
  • Find out how Sea Otters are connected to the lake.
